Overall good article; like it! Regarding telework (remote work) policy: Being tied to an office desk leads to a few predictably negative alternatives that waste a helluva lot of time (people chatting all over gargantuan buildings) & actually, overall not a healthy lifestyle sitting in a chair most of the time, oftentimes leading to drowsiness. Telework allows for virtual teams: you get the best people for the job instead of taking whomever lives within commuting distance. Telework allows for the best selection, globally & nationwide. Telework is a morale issue, an environmental issue, a well-being issue. With telework, employees are also much more likely to work additionally as needed regardless of getting paid for the overtime bc IT'S ABOUT THE MISSION in government, whereas in the civilian world it's all about the bottom line. Last, government uses zoom too for team meetings. I think the end of remote work was the worst decision that tRUmp could've made. Not to mention permanent remote work would have allowed for savings over carrying the overhead. This nonsensical resistance to smart advancements in new work paradigms - stupid.
